This release is designed specifically to support the Radius FireWire card with MotoDV, and the Apple FireWire card with Apple's QuickTime software. Other products are unsupported at this time.
If you did not purchase this application, no support is available for it beyond what is available on the Radius Web site.
If you are using Radius MotoDV:
EditDV Unplugged has already been configured to work with MotoDV; if your MotoDV is functioning normally, then EditDV should function normally,. The Capture menu is dimmed, however; instead of using the Capture window, continue capturing clips with the MotoDV application as usual, and import them into EditDV Unplugged.
MotoDV Troubleshooting:
If your rendered effects and transitions are of poor quality, you will need to either revert from QuickTime 3.0 to QuickTime 2.5, or update MotoDV to version 1.1.2 or later by calling Radius at 1-800-5RADIUS. If you are using version 1.1.2 or later, experiment with the QuickTime compatibility controls in the SoftDV Codec Options, accessible from the Control Strip. For more details, consult the MotoDV 1.1.2 readme.
If you are using the Apple FireWire card:
Before you launch EditDV, you should copy Apple's "DV Device Control" Premiere plug-in from the FireWire folder on your hard drive to the Device Control folder in EditDV's Plug-Ins folder. This will enable device control from within the EditDV Unplugged Capture window.
Before you open the Capture Window, make sure that the FireWire card is installed and working, and that your DV device is powered on and in VTR mode.
Before you can capture with EditDV Unplugged, you must select the DV input for video and for audio using the Video and Sound Settings dialogs, accessible from the Capture menu.
To fully enable device control, select the plug-in from the popup in the Capture Options dialog, available from the Capture window.
Apple FireWire Troubleshooting:
If the Capture menu is dimmed, make sure that your Apple FireWire board is connected and working properly, and that the DV device is powered on and set to VTR mode.
If the Preview window appears as little more than a menu bar, make sure that your FireWire board is connected and working properly, and that the DV device is powered on and set to VTR mode. Verify that you have set the video and audio input source to Apple DV in the dialogs under the Capture menu.
If there is no audio in your recordings, make sure that the audio input is set to DV in the Sound Settings dialog, available fromt he Capture menu.
If your program drops frames or there are clicking sounds when exporting to your DV device, you may need a faster system or disk drive. Alternatively, you may wish to upgrade to Radius MotoDV (which is included with the full version of EditDV), which is very likely to be able to play your existing program smoothly on your current hardware configuration.

Known Bugs
The following bugs are known to exist in EditDV Unplugged.
* A crash will occur after using the Eleminate or Erase functions on clips that include the very first frame of the program. Use the Delete key instead.
* The Preview window will not initialize properly if the DV device is not turned on when the Capture window is opened. Close the Capture window from the Capture menu, turn on the device, and then open the Capture window.
* Space Available doesn't always update immediately if you delete a clip from the project (deleting media files).
